The most recent metamorphosis of Cristina Zavalloni's band IDEA is an energetic quartet that features the veteran Stefano De Bonis on piano, Antonio Borghini on double bass and electric bass, and Cristian Calcagnile on drums and percussion. The sound shifts towards a funk version of the beloved early 60's, ranging from a choice of Charles Aznavour's hits mixed with hip modern jazz compositions and funny original stuff. Hard to describe, as usual. The band occasionally features the wonderful clarinet player Gabriele Mirabassi.
